English language challenges

In university, learn english is different that one expected. For example in english courses showed in TV.

In the first, one thinks that is with books and structured classes, but is not really a true. When we had the first class i was astonished because i didn't understand almost anything. Sincerely i have a low english level, because the most that i know is thanks to my family and their desire to learn by listening music, reading, watching movies, etc.

About blogs, i think that was an interesting experience, it is like a diary when you write how you feel about some topic, it sounds good express yourself in another language, criticize that you don't like or comment things, facts about personal experiences.

As commented previously, i need improve my english because i would like to read texts, listening and understanding english letters of songs, movies, also that knowledge can be useful to learn other languages of my interest.

In addition, if one day i decide travel to other countries i want to be able to communicate with others either to can stay in a hotel or order food in a restaurant and not die trying.

To achieve this, is necessary practice and enjoy the experience of learning, maybe playing a game, try to write and think in english, not as an obligation, as a hobby. For me, the best idea can be reading and watching movies above all in holidays.  

Outside of the english class, we don't use english at the most, but in Evidence based odontology we needed know the basics to read papers but in really wasn't relevant to the subject. For the other side, in Chemical processes for clinical interventions II we needed read some texts in english, these were not very difficult. But not more than that. In my house for example i don't use english regularly for lack of time, because i prefer sleep before watch movies, but i when on holidays probably i try to improve my english.
